“If everything changed when I believed, why does so much still feel the same?”
Lazarus walked out of the tomb alive… and still wrapped in his graveclothes. He had been given new life, but he was still wearing the clothes of a dead man.
For many Christians, this is a familiar contradiction. We believe we’ve been made new in Christ, yet we still wrestle with fear, shame, old habits, and wounds from our past. We know what Scripture says is true of us, but we struggle to live as though it is.
Graveclothes is a book about identity. Drawing from Scripture, history, and personal experiences, author and pastor Neil Broere explores the gap between what God says about you and what your life actually looks like, revealing how the Holy Spirit works to remove everything that no longer belongs to you.
Inside Graveclothes, you’ll discover:
You are who God says you are
The difference between being made new and learning to live new
How to recognize your graveclothes
Why repentance begins with changing the way you think
The freedom of living as a child of God
Why freedom was never meant to end with you
