UNFOLD is a powerful Bible reading app that gives you everything you need to study God’s word, journal God’s word, and systematically read God’s word. UNFOLD will help you see how the entire biblical story fits together, understand the passages that feel difficult or unfamiliar, and encounter Jesus across the whole narrative, from Genesis to Revelation. Allow UNFOLD to guide you through the Scriptures or use UNFOLD to explore the passages you want to study. We designed UNFOLD to be an all-in-one Bible study app that feels simple, clean, and intuitive. You can go as deep as you want to go in a passage, or simply read the Bible. UNFOLD is your solution to searching multiple apps when you spend time with God.

Many people spend their devotional time switching between apps: one to read the passage, another to study a word, another to study a commentary, and another to make a note. UNFOLD combines the power and depth of your favorite Bible study tools with the beauty and simplicity of a well-designed interface. Everything you need to study the Scriptures is a click away…and out of the way when you don’t need it.

The plan divides the Bible into ten sections. You read one chapter from the first section, then one from the second, and so on. After the tenth, UNFOLD circles back to the first section and continues the cycle. The app keeps your place even after you close it, and guides you into the next passage seamlessly.

Instead of moving through the Bible in a straight line, the UNFOLD reading plan moves through the Bible in layers — Old Testament and New, narrative and poetry and prophecy, woven together. It may feel unexpected at first, but it's deliberately organized. And one of the best parts: you'll start noticing connections between passages you may have never read close together. Scripture begins to reveal Scripture and the Bible begins speaking.

And just like God’s word accomplishing it’s purpose, the UNFOLD reading plan never ends. It continues to explore the Scriptures in an ever-evolving pattern.

You can — and many people have been blessed doing exactly that. But reading straight through means it's a long time before you reach a psalm or a Gospel, and that stretch is where a lot of well-intentioned plans stall. By cycling through the full scope of God’s word, UNFOLD keeps the journey varied. You're always moving between different parts of the story, and Scripture gets to shed light on Scripture along the way.

There's no schedule to fall behind on. The plan isn't tied to dates — it simply waits for you. Whenever you open the app, your next chapter is right where you left it. Read one chapter a day, several in a sitting, or at whatever rhythm fits your life. Consistency matters more than speed.

Yes. Explore Mode lets you go anywhere in the Bible — revisit a chapter you've already read, follow a cross-reference, or spend time in a particular book. When you're ready to return, a Resume Plan button takes you right back to your place in the reading plan. The plan gives you direction; Explore Mode gives you freedom.

UNFOLD includes over 1,200 commentary notes from Neil Broere’s personal library — as well as deep dive commentaries from trusted voices from church history. These notes have been compiled from over fifteen years of Neil’s study and include his personal notes, sermon outlines, quotes that have inspired him, classes he has taught around the world, video devotionals, and even the notes Neil has written in the margins of his own Bibles. The note count is being added to daily — with a goal of reaching 5,000 notes by the end of 2026.

Each commentary note is embedded in the verse you’re reading. The icon indicator next to the verse number lets you know there is a Scripture note or video note…or both! Simply tap anywhere on the verse and the Scripture note will pop up. Verse references within the notes are all hyper-linked. Simply tap a cross referenced verse and it also pops up to easily read without leaving the passage you started in.

UNFOLD uses the New American Standard Bible (NASB 2020), a translation known for its accuracy and faithfulness to the original languages. Additional translations are being added.

Not at all. UNFOLD is built for someone opening the Bible for the first time and for someone who's read it for decades. If you're new, the plan and commentary give you a clear path and a steady guide. If you've been reading for years, the interwoven sequence has a way of making familiar passages feel new.

UNFOLD is available by subscription for $8.99/mo or $89.99/yr. Pricing is also available for couples ($12.99/mo or $129.90/yr), families ($31.99/mo or $319.90/yr), churches (contact for more info), and a lifetime subscription ($399)

Scripture doesn't give up all its beauty at once. Its meaning, depth, and unity unfold gradually as you keep reading — connections start to appear, unfamiliar books begin to make sense, and the one story running through all sixty-six books comes into focus. That slow unfolding is the heart of the app. As Psalm 119:130 puts it, "The unfolding of Your words gives light."

UNFOLD is available now for iPhone and iPad on the App Store, and for Android on Google Play.
